Vagrant Story is unique as a console action/adventure role-playing game in that it features no shops and no player interaction with other characters instead, the game focuses on weapon creation and modification, as well as elements of puzzle-solving and strategy. The player may also switch into first-person perspective to allow for a 360 view using the START button or right analog stick on the game controller. The game takes place in the fictional kingdom of Valendia and the ruined city of Leá Monde. Go through the one to your right to find a chest guarded by a ghost and zombie.The story centers on Ashley Riot, an elite agent known as a Riskbreaker, who must travel to Leá Monde to investigate the link between a cult leader and a senior Valendian Parliament member, Duke Bardorba. Once you do, you will encounter two more zombies, and more doors. The other door is the one you will want to go through. It leads to a room with a bat and zombie, but no exits or special items, so just ignore it. The one to your right is basically a trap. Finally, the right door leads to the final part of the dungeon where you will encounter the boss that will allow you to get the Lily Sigil and exit the level.Īfter entering the next room, you will encounter another zombie and two doors. The door to your left leads to the first workshop where you can combine weapons to form new ones. The one directly in front of you is locked, and requires the Lily Sigil to open. The next room holds two zombies, so dispatch them quickly and continue onto the next area where you will encounter another zombie and a save point. From there you can again pick up the box, and place it on top of the two stone blocks, forming a small tower that you can use to leap to the ledge and continue onto the next room. Next pick up the box that is against the wall, and place it on top of the two that are directly next to each other. Then push the other stone block from the middle of the room on top of it. Firstly, move the stone block that is on the floor in the dark area of the room over one square so that it is lined up with the ledge. You need to move the blocks and boxes in the room so that you are able to reach the far ledge. Return to the previous room, and enter the door on the opposite side to find a small puzzle. You can take the box closest to the door, stack it on the other, and then carry it over to a ledge to reach a crate.ġ Soul Kiss (silver dagger, piercing – very good against undead and phantom) 1 Targe (bronze shield) 1 Knuckles (bronze glove) 1 Bear Mask (leather helm) 1 Haeralis (gem that slightly increases power vs humans) 2 Spirit Orisons (cures numbness) 2 Eyes of Aragon (reveals traps) Once you are in the room, another zombie, and two more boxes will greet you. If you destroy one, you will be able to carry another over to the opposite wall, where you will be able to hoist yourself up into a hidden room. Corner to the right from the door has a stack of boxes in it. In the next area you will find a bat along with two zombies. Almost a duplicate of the previous room, this one has a hellhound, zombie, and a small freeze trap right in front of the door. Once it is dead, move on to the next room. These dogs from down below are basically stronger versions of the wolf, but later some will breathe fire at you. Use whatever you need, and then continue on to the next room, where you will encounter a bat and a hellhound. The first room of the catacombs welcomes you with a save point and container against one wall, and a heal panel in front of a casket on the other.
